About the people and elements used in Verum: Volume 1:
All fonts and photos were chosen by talented women designers to emphasize the themes within Volume 1. The font used is Faune designed by Alice Savoie and the black and white photographs were taken by Erika Morillo.
Alice Savoie
​
Alice Savoie is the type designer of Faune, the font used within Verum. Faune was commissioned by the Centre National des Arts Plastiques and is influenced by illustrations created by Marine Rivoal that plays with the idea of the natural world influencing design. Alice Savoie is a Type designer who graduated from École Duperré and École Estienne in Paris with an MA in Typeface Design and a PhD in Type history from the University of Reading. She currently teaches type design at Écal Lausanne and a post-doctoral researcher at the Leverhulme-funded research project, ‘Women in Type.’

Erika Morillo
​
Erika Morillo was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and is now is a freelance artist and educator based in New York City. Her photography is influenced by her studies in clinical psychology and sociology. Her work primarily focuses on family, social environments, and finding identity. Her work has been published nationally and internationally. She is currently pursuing an MFA at Image Text Ithaca. Her work appears throughout Volume 1, inspiring many of the writer's content that was submitted.
