Two-Faced Demons

A sharp siren rings loudly

In the dark confines of my mind,

The past nightmares

Swim up to the brim.

Suddenly I remember it all,

The pain and the tears in my eyes,

Remembering the dark smiles

Of the two-faced demons.

I feel like the world is going

In slow motion,

And everything aches,

I wish I could turn back time.

I would say I missed who I used to be,

But I’m glad I’m not her anymore.

A lost mind tangled in the darkness.

Poetry

In my pieces I wanted to create the fleeting feeling a parent might feel while watching their child grow older, and their efforts to make sure that they are always safe.
